About PlayVC Dodgeball
A fun, social adult recreational dodgeball league bringing the excitement of this classic gym class game to Ventura County.
PlayVC Dodgeball is an adult recreational league designed for players of all skill levels who want to have fun, stay active, and connect with their community. Whether you played dodgeball in school or are picking up a ball for the first time, our league welcomes you.
We focus on creating a social, inclusive environment where the emphasis is on enjoyment and friendly competition rather than cutthroat athletics. Games are played at Dos Vientos Community Park (4801 Borchard Rd, Newbury Park, CA 91320) - a great outdoor venue that brings the community together.
PlayVC Dodgeball is proudly powered by ASSL (Adult Social Sports League), an organization dedicated to bringing accessible, social recreational sports to adults in our community.
ASSL leagues prioritize fun and sportsmanship, ensuring every player has a great experience regardless of their athletic background. Our official rules follow ASSL guidelines to maintain fair and enjoyable gameplay.
League Format
Our league runs in seasonal formats, with each season typically lasting 8 weeks. This includes regular season games followed by playoffs for teams that qualify.
- One game night per week - typically weekday evenings
- Regular season - 6-7 weeks of league play
- Playoffs - end-of-season tournament for qualifying teams
- Multiple games per night - maximize your time on the court
Games are scheduled to accommodate working adults, so you can enjoy competitive dodgeball without it taking over your life!

You don't need to be an athlete to join PlayVC Dodgeball!
Our league is designed for everyone - from complete beginners to experienced players. We emphasize fun, sportsmanship, and social connection over intense competition. Come as you are, learn as you play, and enjoy being part of a supportive community.
Many of our players joined without any dodgeball experience and discovered a love for the game. The rules are simple to learn, and fellow players are always happy to help newcomers get up to speed.
